Not the Greatest Generation

I've been rewatching Band of Brothers and now The Pacific, and all I have to say is, we would not be the nation we are today if that generation had indulged in the crisis of conscience that is the heart of this book. Yes its telling that the author mentioned the "Hitler question" on his application to be a conscientious objector.
